Our white boxer Byon was a rescue who rescued himself by walking into our restaurant patio one night. We were sitting at the first table and our bartender said, “there’s your new dog.” He was abandoned at Venice beach, a bit mangy and malnourished, but he found us. Once we had nursed him back to health, he had the best joy of life. Here, on a walk along a Venice canal, I wanted to show that joy as he is seen greeting the day.
